Comfort IQ is a feature of your Vivint system that automatically adjusts your home’s temperature based on your preferences and home occupancy to help conserve energy. It uses your Vivint thermostat, sensors, and intelligent automation to keep you comfortable while reducing unnecessary heating and cooling, helping lower your energy bills.

During times of high electricity demand, Comfort IQ may also make small, temporary adjustments to your thermostat to help conserve energy, support your community's power grid, and, in some cases, coordinate with your local utility or electric provider. You're always in control and can override any Comfort IQ adjustment at any time.

How do Energy Savings Events work?

When your local utility or electric provider signals an energy event—typically during periods of extreme heat, cold, or high demand—Vivint may make a temporary adjustment to your thermostat to reduce strain on the grid. Your home stays within the temperatures you specify, and you help your community conserve energy when it matters most.

How do I participate in Energy Savings Events?

By participating in Comfort IQ, you are automatically enrolled to participate in Energy Savings Events when they occur.

Can I opt out of Energy Savings Events?

Absolutely. Participation in Energy Savings Events is always your choice, and you can opt out at any time. You can override any adjustment directly from your thermostat or the Vivint app during an event.
