Vivint today announced that its home automation system has received positive recognition in several influential media outlets, including computing and technology publication MaximumPC, Consumers Digest, and Blogcritics.

Vivint earned a commanding 9 out of 10 score in a September 27 product shoot-out from Maximum PC Reviews Editor Michael Brown, who declared the company “the new top dog,” and “the company to beat” over ADT and Frontline Security.

Brown cited Vivint’s “leading-edge technology and extremely aggressive prices” as major advantages over competitors’ offerings. He also described Vivint’s control panel as “best-in-class” thanks to its large color touch-screen, “crash-and-smash” protection and Vivint Live voice functionality that allows users to speak directly to a representative through the device. “If you want a state-of-the-art security system that integrates all the most important home-control features, but don’t have a lot of cash, Vivint offers a compelling package,” said Brown.

Vivint has become a strong competitor since entering the home automation market in early 2011, building a strong customer base and earning high praise from other consumer media outlets as well.

Consumers Digest gave “Best Buy” ratings to the company’s Home Automation Package and Advanced Security Package in the category of Midrange Monitored Home Security Systems. According to the magazine’s review of Vivint’s Home Automation Package, “No other system that uses a wireless (cellular) transmission system that’s in this price range packs as many security and home automation components in one package as this package does.”
Blogcritics writer Joseph Timmons also spoke highly about the company in a September 15 review, stating that “thanks to Vivint, our home is a safer place to be.”

“The positive recognition we’ve gotten from the press validates the direction we’ve taken as a company,” said Todd Pedersen, CEO of Vivint. “We went into the home automation space with the belief that this technology could be brought to the masses in a package that’s effective, affordable and simple to use. We value the feedback we receive from each review as well as the feedback we get from our customers.”

Vivint offers simple, affordable home automation solutions, all of which include a wireless touch-screen, remote Internet and smartphone access, window and door sensors, a motion detector, thermostat, lamp and small appliance control, and video cameras.
