Vivint, one of the largest home automation companies in North America, is proud to host “Olympic Town” at the 2011 Utah Special Olympics Fall Sports Classic, Oct. 14 – Oct. 15 at University of Utah. About 950 athletes will participate in this two-day event.
Olympic Town offers activities for Special Olympic participants between their sporting events. Vivint employees will serve as volunteers in the art, dance and music, craft and photo booths, as well as the obstacle course, fishing pond, and ring toss.
“Olympic Town is a signature event at our Fall Sports Classic. Our athletes look forward to making new friends and participating in fun activities while receiving encouragement from the volunteers. We are thrilled Vivint has joined us in celebrating our athletes and is helping make their experience meaningful and exciting by coordinating our Olympic Town,” said Amy Hansen, Special Olympics Utah CEO. “We feel fortunate to have Vivint as an ongoing partner that contributes to our success,” she added.
“Last year our employees had the chance to volunteer with the Special Olympics,” said Josh Houser, president of Vivint Gives Back, the company’s charitable division. “It was such a wonderful experience, we wanted to do something more significant this year. Hosting Olympic Town will give our employees the chance to spend quality time with incredibly inspiring athletes, and help out with a great cause.”
