PROVO, Utah (February 23, 2017) – Vivint Smart Home, the leading smart home services provider in North America, today announced that Matt Mahar, vice president of consumer experience and design, is a 2017 Utah Business Forty Under 40 honoree. Under Mahar’s leadership, Vivint has designed multiple award-winning products and created the top-rated app among smart home service providers.

Every year, Utah Business recognizes Utah’s up-and-coming professionals rising through the ranks at record speed in its Forty Under 40 list. This year’s list of honorees includes innovating tech wizards, visionary entrepreneurs, nonprofit leaders and executive captains who are guiding industry trends and shaping the future of their organizations and the state of Utah.

Mahar oversees all software and hardware design for the company’s smart home platform. His team created the user experiences for the Vivint Doorbell Camera, the Vivint Element thermostat and the Vivint Ping indoor camera. Before joining Vivint Smart Home, Mahar was the director of software experience design at Nike where he built the digital experience for Nike+ products, including Nike+ Running, Nike+ Training Club and Nike+ Fuel Band. He also led digital experience design at EA Sports.
