Vivint™, one of the largest home automation companies in North America, has promoted JT Hwang to the position of chief information officer. JT will oversee all IT operations and software development for the company, and will be responsible for creating and implementing Vivint’s data reporting and technology strategy.

JT previously served as Vivint’s chief technology officer. During his time in that position, he built the infrastructure that supported the company’s impressive growth and service record. He was responsible for integrating all technology systems, including customer management and scheduling. Thanks to JT’s efforts Vivint was awarded the 2010 Mobilizer award for Field Service Excellence.

One of JT’s most significant accomplishments was overseeing the creation of Vivint’s first monitoring station. This milestone completed the company’s transformation from a marketer of third-party security products to a full-service home automation company, providing all installation, service and monitoring services in-house.

JT holds both a bachelor’s in computer science and a master’s in computer science and electrical engineering from MIT.
