Facebook Voting Will Determine $250,000 Donations to Non-Profit Organizations

PROVO, Utah -- APX Alarm Security Solutions Inc, one of the nation’s largest residential security companies, announced today that it is giving away $250,000 to eligible non-profit organizations across North America. “The APX Gives Back Project” invites everyone to nominate/vote for a favorite local charity on Facebook.

The eligible charity receiving the overall highest number of votes on Facebook throughout North America will be awarded the $100,000 grand prize. Five additional $30,000 awards will be given to the top eligible charities receiving the most individual votes for each region (Canada is one region and the U.S.A. has four regions).

APX Alarm Security representatives covering North America will use information cards to invite local communities to nominate and vote for their favorite local charity of choice. This is accomplished by becoming a Facebook “fan” and submitting their nomination/ vote at http://www.facebook.com/apxalarm?v=app_121215224555298.

Nominating and endorsing favorite local charities starts today and ends June 12, 2010. Then on June 14, voting begins for the 15 finalists selected in each region. Voting ends August 21, 2010 and awards will be announced on August 23.
