Vivint reviews—customer testimonials
Patrick D.
Ohio
Not many people can meet, let alone exceed, Patrick's customer service expectations. As a Human Resources Specialist in Ohio who trains 1,200 new customers yearly on "the customer experience," Patrick's expectations are admittedly high. After a recent experience with Vivint's technical support, Patrick is happy to add Vivint to his list of companies with great service.
"In my trainings I reference some 'Wow' customer service moments I've had at places like Nordstrom and Amazon," said Patrick. "Now I am happy to say that employees coming through the doors of my company will hear how a pleasant technical support person at Vivint made my day and made me a customer for life."
Patrick, who has had his security system for about a year and a half, recently lost a door sensor. After calling Vivint about the problem, Patrick was pleased when he received the sensor just three days later. When he called technical support, he was pleasantly surprised at the kindness and assistance he received as he installed the new sensor.
"Even with a contract where I don't have much of a choice, you [Vivint] were still kind to me and helpful," said Patrick. "Customer service like that is the cornerstone of good business."
Patrick says he's still impressed with how the technical support rep walked him through the installation steps. In fact, he plans on using the phone call as an example of great customer service in his future trainings.
"People choose a product or service because of the price, but they stay because of the people," said Patrick.
"We feel so well looked after, It's great to know there really is someone at the other end of the line."
Karen B.
Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada
Karen B. wanted a home security system; she just wasn't sure how to make it work. Before moving to Alberta, Karen and her family built a house in Nova Scotia and specifically hard-wired it for a security system. However, their new home was older and Karen didn't know how to best protect it—until a Vivint sales representative knocked on her door.
"I was amazed we didn't have to tear the whole house apart to have a system," Karen said.
Karen's amazement didn't stop there. She also loves how easy it is to use the panel, the comfort of the key fob, and the impressive customer service. Karen's list of good impressions seemed to grow at every turn. And most of all Karen has been impressed with Vivint's world-class monitoring—a stark change from her old security company.
"I love that the monitoring isn't sold to someone else," Karen said. "With our old system I'd call in to report a false alarm and be on hold for 20 minutes, which didn't make me feel safe."
With Vivint, Karen is contacted immediately through the two-way voice feature on the panel any time her alarm is tripped. Karen and her family are so confident in the system that they no longer feel the need to have someone "babysit" their home while they are away.
I choose a product or service because of the price, but I stay because of the people.

Kristy L.
Illinois
Kristy and her husband, have been enjoying the protection of a Vivint home security system for the past few years. They have loved the security, the customer service, and everything else about the company. As far as they were concerned, things simply couldn't have been any better. And then they upgraded to the Vivint Go!Control panel and programmable Smart Thermostat.
"We could not be happier with this system," said Kristy about the upgrade.
Having decided to live a "greener" life, Kristy is dedicated to recycling and even has a compost pile. When she heard about the Vivint Energy Management package, it seemed like the next logical step.
Kristy was excited to replace her old incandescent light bulbs with the energy-efficient compact fluorescent light bulbs that came with the upgrade. She was also eager to reduce her heating and cooling costs and emissions by using the programmable thermostat. And for self-proclaimed "techy people," the new touch screen was the icing on the cake.
"The thermostat has ended up saving us about $50 to $75 a month by using the energy saving schedules with slight modifications," said Kristy. "I love that there is a separate temperature setting based solely on when the system is armed in Away mode."
"We can set the alarm through the apps and have full temperature control no matter where we are."
Kristy has also set up additional alarm codes for family and friends, which keeps them informed on who is coming and going through their smart-phone app. The app also allows Kristy to control her alarm and thermostat while on the go.
"I can set the alarm through the apps and have full temperature control no matter where I am," said Kristy. "What we have ended up loving most about the system is how easy and convenient it is to do everything."
David R.
Edmonton, Alberta
If there's one thing David is known for, it's not being an easy sell. When a Vivint sales representative knocked on his door, however, David signed a contract on the spot. Being a salesman himself, David expects the best from products and those pushing them, and Vivint has earned his seal of approval from start to finish.
"I work in sales, so I expect good service; I have nothing but good things to say about Vivint," David said. "The salesman was awesome, the technician was great, and everyone I've talked to over the phone or online has been polite and knowledgeable, and has responded to me quickly."
According to David, the products have impressed him just as much as the people have. David loves how he can check the system online from work every morning after his family has left the house. And because the thermostat is connected through his Go!Control system, it has made it easier than ever for his family to control their home's temperature.
"The Go!Control panel is very intuitive and easy to use," David said. "Everything is so convenient. I love that I can go online and check on the system."
"I guess they thought they would make it [the alarm] stop, but since it's wireless, it just kept working. It definitely did its job."
David B.
Miami
There are a lot of things that Miami resident David B. loves about his Vivint home security system, and its wireless capabilities are at the top of his list.
Always a firm believer in home security systems, David followed the advice of his father-in-law and had a Vivint system installed in November 2009. About 10 months later, a scary situation made David and his family realize just how smart his decision was to invest in a Vivint security system.
In August, David received a call at work from Vivint saying that one of his glass break sensors had been triggered. The police had already been dispatched and were impressed with what they found when they reached David's home.
The intruder(s), who were undoubtedly surprised by the alarm, had ripped the panel off the wall, hoping to stop the alarm and its signal. However, because the system is wireless, the alarm continued to sound, causing the intruders to leave hastily. They were only able to take one item from the home.
"I guess they thought they would make it [the alarm] stop, but since it's wireless, it just kept working. It definitely did its job," David said. "I am grateful because without it, we probably wouldn't have much left."
Shortly after the home intrusion David called Vivint to report that the panel had been ripped off the wall. He was more than impressed when a technician came to his home that same day to install a new panel.
"We are definitely happy with the service," David said. "We have two small sons and it's good to know our family is protected."
To this day I am still stunned at the immediate response and personal care I was given through Vivint.
Marcella J.
Texas
Marcella J.
Marcella and Anthony J. have had alarm systems off and on for the past five and a half years, hoping to have extra help and protection for their home and family. Marcella is particularly interested in having extra security because she suffers from a seizure disorder. However, usability problems and old-fashioned technology, like phone lines have always left them unsatisfied. All of that was about to change when a Vivint representative knocked on their door in Augustand just in the nick of time.
Marcella, who had been sick all week and was suffering from bouts of fainting, blackouts, and sleepwalking, was in bed when her husband Anthony answered the door. Anthony was impressed with the idea of a wireless system and felt strongly that with his wife's physical struggles, a home alarm was once again a necessity.
Less than two weeks later, Marcella found herself feeling worse than usual with a headache and nausea that left her so weak that she couldn't even talk with a friend on the phone. Somewhere between hanging up the phone and passing out, Marcella pushed the emergency button on her Vivint Go!Control panel, and the next thing she remembers is waking up to a concerned voice talking to her over the Vivint intercom.
"I don't remember hitting the button or anything, but I woke up to hear a voice on the intercom asking if I was okay," Marcella says. "She talked until I woke up and wouldn't get off the intercom until she was absolutely sure no one was in the house trying to hurt me and until help arrived. It was like having a rescue worker holding my hand until help arrived. I felt safe and I felt like I was going to be okay in spite of all my panic."
Help arrived quickly, and Marcella was transported to a local hospital to receive additional care. Marcella's anxiety then turned to her husband, who she worried wouldn't know where she was or what had happened to her. To her surprise, Anthony was already at the hospital waiting for her. He had been notified of the emergency by Vivint.
"We hadn't even had the system two weeks," Marcella says. "If it hadn't been for Vivint, I don't know what would have happened to me."
Marcella credits Vivint with saving her life that day and protecting her in a genuine and caring way when she needed it most.
Sharon M.
Sharon, who has had one alarm system or another installed in her home since she moved in 15 years ago, switched to Vivint approximately five years ago after problems with her ADT service. At the time Sharon chose to have a Vivint home security system installed, she figured the system would continue to provide peace of mind and discourage potential criminalseven though she hadn't had previous problems. What she didn't know is that her alarm would be essential in protecting her twice in less than a month.
On September 13, 2009, Sharon was woken at midnight by the sound of her phone ringing. It was Vivint calling. Although she didn't make it to the phone in time to answer, once she was up she noticed that her security system was in full alarm. Sharon went downstairs and didn't find anyone, which led her to believe it was a false alarm. She went outside to wait for the police when she heard someone tampering with her electrical box. The next sound she heard was a twisting doorknob.
Sharon then ran back inside to grab her cell phone and call 911. Once connected with a dispatcher, she was informed that because of her alarm, the police were already waiting outside her door.
"The alarm went off because of the digital system, even though the intruder cut the utilities," Sharon says thankfully. "The police were alerted and came quickly." On October 22, less than a month later, Sharon had barely left for work when she received a call from Vivint informing her that her alarm had been triggered. The intruders had broken through Sharon's security door and internal door. Once inside they realized that the alarm was going off and pulled the panel off the wallto no avail. The alarm was still sounding. Dissuaded by the alarm, the intruders only grabbed a few items before they left.
"I always tell my friends about Vivint because there's no way [intruders] can cut off your alarm. And if they do get in your house, they don't have time to get much because the alarm sounding means the police are on the way."
And that's not all. This summer, while at home, an intruder broke one of Sharon's windows. Hearing the attempted intrusion, Sharon herself set off her alarminstantly scaring off the intruder. Sharon has since upgraded her system to include glass breaking sensors and a panel that allows Vivint to talk to her through the panel itself.
"I feel a lot safer with the new system and knowing that even if I put in the wrong code Vivint will be checking on me," Sharon says.
Sharon's experiences are the precise reason why home security is so important and why Sharon is so grateful.
"I thank my alarm companyVivintfor my safety," Sharon says.
