Vivint Employees Kick Off Holiday Giving at Ronald McDonald House
Employees at Vivint™, one of the nation’s largest home automation companies, started the holiday season with a month of volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House of Salt Lake City. During November, Vivint employees served meals to families staying at the facility, including about 60 people on Thanksgiving Day.
“Few situations place greater stress on parents and families than having a child with a life-threatening disease or unexpected illness or injury,” said Carrie Romano, Ronald McDonald House Charities Executive Director. “And while tremendous advances have been made in treating seriously ill children, the families' financial and emotional burdens remain. Support from organizations like Vivint help make our efforts possible. Their service provides both essential labor and emotional support that assures these families can focus on healing.
The company’s Vivint Gives Back charitable arm is a regular contributor to the Ronald McDonald House. In 2011 alone, 225 Vivint employees donated 450 hours and prepared meals for 750 family members.
“The holidays can be a rough time when your children are facing serious health issues, and being away from home can make it even more challenging,” said Josh Houser, president of Vivint Gives Back. “This past month has been so rewarding for our employees, and spending Thanksgiving Day with these incredible families was particularly meaningful. We are truly grateful for the opportunity to partner with an organization that shares our commitment to supporting families and giving back to our community.”
