Vivint Begins "Year of Service" Initiative with Summer Series of Community-Based Projects

Vivint™, the largest home automation services company in North America, today announced the kick-off of the company’s 2012 Vivint Gives Back “Year of Service” initiative, which will begin with a series of summer service projects based in the communities the company serves.

During summer months, Vivint Gives Back will focus on providing hands-on service in local communities. Vivint has set a goal of completing 80 separate projects with more than 6,000 hours of time donated by employees. The company is teaming up with local organizations including Habitat for Humanity, the Ronald McDonald House and Tapestries of Life to collaborate on several community projects. Additionally, Vivint customers, local residents, and online community members will have the opportunity to submit service projects for consideration at yearofservice.vivint.com, and are welcome to serve alongside the Vivint employees.

In addition to the local service opportunities, Vivint has also designated two days in June where employees are encouraged to donate a portion of their paychecks toward employee-selected charities.

This is the fourth year of operation for Vivint Gives Back. Last year, the company’s online Facebook campaign “ The Vivint Gives Back Project” gave away more than 1.25 million dollars to various causes and charitable organizations throughout North America. In 2012, Vivint’s goal is to match or exceed the past years' donation and fundraising efforts.

“Giving back is a huge part of our company culture at every level,” said Josh Houser, president of Vivint Gives Back. “This year we wanted to focus on giving more than just money, providing opportunities for our employees to roll up their sleeves and serve in multiple communities across North America.”
