Supporters of 100 non-profit organizations in the United States and Canada will have one last chance to double their gifts to their favorite charities during the final matching period of the 2011 Vivint Gives Back Project.
Vivint, the largest home automation company in North America, sponsors the online campaign, which will award up to $1.25 million to local charities in the United States and Canada.
The 100 charities became Regional Finalists in the contest by receiving the most votes during Phase One of the competition. The charity receiving the most overall votes will be awarded the grand prize of $250,000, with the top scoring charities in each region receiving $100,000 apiece—plus the donations and matching donations contributed during the matching periods.
How to Donate and Vote:Between 12 a.m. (midnight) MDTon Tuesday, Aug. 16 and 11:59 p.m. MDTon Thursday, Aug. 18 MDT, supporters of the finalists can cast their votes and make a contribution by visiting http://www.vivint.com/givesbackproject, where they will find a “donate” button on each charity’s Vivint Gives Back Project page. All donations are secure and will go directly to the charity. During the matching periods, Vivint will contribute a dollar-for-dollar match of up to $50 per person per charity, and up to $2,500 for each organization. The matching periods could mean an extra $5,000 for each regional finalist.
New Wild Card Prizes Announced:In addition to the final matching period, Vivint also announced that every finalist that tallies 5,000 or more votes by Aug. 27, the final day of the contest, will be entered to win one of two $25,000 wild card prizes. All charities that are not regional or grand prize winners will be eligible for the drawing.
