Vivint Gives Back
The Vivint Family Foundation provides the direction and financial resources for the Vivint Gives Back program. This program focuses the efforts of the employees and owners of Vivint Inc., who contribute time, money, and volunteer hours to complete service projects in their communities.
Vivint Gives Back was created to alleviate hardship and restore hope for families in need. Since its inception in 2008, Vivint Gives Back has participated in activities from clean up after Hurricane Ike to providing meals at the Ronald
McDonald House to adopting a local elementary school.
This culture of serving is evident in the high percentage of employees who participate in each project. At Vivint, we have witnessed our employees talking about how giving creates a stronger connection to their company, their coworkers, and their communities. Our culture of giving is consistent with the character of our employees. Individually, each of us feels better about ourselves when we see our efforts contributing to worthy causes.
Ronald McDonald House:
Throughout 2011, Vivint volunteers prepared and served 12 meals to families in need at the Salt Lake City and Birmingham Ronald McDonald Houses. These 146 volunteers were able to donate 371 man hours and feed 600 people.
In October 2011, nearly 175 Vivint volunteers went to Salt Lake City to help out at the Special Olympics Utah. Volunteers helped run the obstacle course, a photo booth, the dance and music booth, arts and crafts, ring toss, Paul Mitchell’s hair booth, and a fishing pond for 2,300 athletes.
Feed My Starving Children:
In July and August 2012, 733 Vivint volunteers joined up with Feed My Starving Children to package meals for hungry children in South America and Africa. Altogether, our volunteers contributed 1,466 hours (3.5 days) of service to this project and packaged enough meals to feed 575 children for an entire year.
United Way Day of Caring 2012:
In September 2012, 75 volunteers from Vivint’s corporate office banded together to participate in United Way’s Day of Caring. Everyone helped beautify a local elementary school by trimming bushes, repainting pavement games, power-washing playground equipment, and weeding the grounds. Volunteers also played games with elementary school children in the classrooms.
